SENSE OF PLACE

A dynamic video wall exploring the interconnected life of the Carolina Piedmont.

A new exhibit at Charlotte Nature Museum features several interactives that highlight wildlife and sustainability. One such multimedia installation is "Sense of Place", which invites visitors to experience the rich ecological web of the Piedmont region in the Carolinas through a wall-sized display that merges static and moving media. Surrounding cases of specimens, graphics, and mirrored surfaces frame seven video monitors playing looped sequences of documentary-style content. I was brought on as a video designer, under the creative direction of Quatrefoil Associates, to curate a cohesive selection of media depicting a sense of place in the Piedmont region.

The video wall will be installed and open to the public in 2026.

Scrolling Water Projection

Another section of the exhibit that I contributed to an atmospheric projection demonstrating the value of water across cultures. The animation itself mimics the reflection of light on the surface of rippling water interspersed with text, such as  cultural phrases and translations of water in different languages.
