Zoe McCarthy is a multimedia designer, creative director, and curator based in Philadelphia. Her work utilizes interactivity and experiential storytelling to craft truly responsive environments, engaging audiences with depth and purpose. With a creative practice encompassing exhibit design, interactive installations, curation, and community organizing, Zoe prototypes new ways of fostering embodiment, awareness, and connection across physical and digital landscapes. Her emphasis on interactivity is grounded in a belief that accessibility and community participation are fundamental to meaningful design.
Zoe has worked with a variety of partners including the Reginald F. Lewis Museum, Charlotte Museum of Nature, Riversdale Historic House, New Jersey State Archives, PNC Bank, Oculus, Flagler College, Scripps Institute of Oceanography, and Port Discovery Children’s Museum. She has exhibited works in local galleries such as Icebox Project Space, Vox Populi, and Inliquid, while also bringing projections to the streets of Philadelphia through pop-up activations with Illuminate Philly. She is also a curator at AUTOMAT Collective, an artist run gallery space that champions the work of emerging artists. Her work has also been exhibited in Baltimore, Florida, Arizona, Louisiana, Rhode Island, Washington DC, and beyond.
