Zoe McCarthy is a multimedia artist and experiential designer based in Philadelphia, originally from the DC area. She received her BFA in Illustration from the University of the Arts and has since expanded her practice through a robust independent study of 3D animation, interactive media, and spatial installation. Her work centers on the creation of responsive environments—immersive, multisensory spaces that bridge art, technology, and human experience. Within this framework, Zoe prototypes new ways of fostering embodiment, connection to the natural world, and emotional awareness across physical and digital landscapes.
As a designer, she brings this research-driven approach to a wide range of projects spanning exhibit design, interactive installations, games, user interfaces, and virtual production. Her emphasis on interactivity is grounded in a belief that play is essential to learning and engagement, and that accessibility and community participation are fundamental to meaningful design. Zoe’s work has been exhibited in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Florida, Arizona, Rhode Island, Washington, DC, and beyond.
