MEADOWSIDE
A gesture-based game that brings the instincts of a hawk to life for children at a nature center
This interactive gesture-based game was designed for a nature center to allow children ages 6–10 to embody a hawk. Using body movements tracked by a 3D camera, players guide the hawk across a projected landscape of trees, meadows, and streams to spot and catch prey such as fish, frogs, bunnies, birds to feed to their chicks. Developed to run unsupervised and accessible to wheelchair users, the game highlights the behaviors of birds of prey while creating an intuitive, immersive experience that connects young visitors to the natural world.
