AXIOS
An animated short musing on themes of embodiment and connection.
Story
The greek word Axios literally means "worthy" or "deserving", and also defines the balancing of scales - two halves that are worth the same. This story is about co-creation; building a shared environment through intimacy and vulnerability. The body is the arena for this world, and through it we can see the impact of interconnectivity on the nervous system. Migratory birds explore what lies beneath the surface, traversing turbulent sensations and portals of intensity into spaces of serenity and depth.
Axios explores the fluid, shifting nature of balance and equality. Sometimes we are the birds, the restless seekers; sometimes we are the koi, grounded in wisdom and acceptance. Sometimes we identify with the land on which these stories unfold - subject to the movements and cycles of nature. Balance often means oscillating between the receptive and projective; knowing when to fill space, and when to form it. A truly shared world has limitless capacity. The world of Axios reminds us that the courage to stay connected, while at times challenging, can be nourishing and regenerative.
Axios was shown at Vox Populi in the group show “fragment: form” in November 2026. “Axios” was featured in the black box space, making for an intimate viewing experience.
